Welcome to ELMACON!

ELMACON is a mathematics competition for students in Grades 5, 6, and 7. Each year, hundreds of young problem-solvers gather at UBC to tackle challenging mathematical problems and put their skills to the test.

ELMACON 2027 - Preparation Sessions Open for Registration

ELMACON preparation sessions are a great way to experience the contest, practise challenging problems, and learn mathematical techniques to help you prepare for ELMACON 2027.

📅 Session dates and locations

  • Session 1: Saturday, November 28, 2026 — UBC (confirmed;)

  • Session 2: Saturday, February 6, 2027 — SFU (to be confirmed)
  • Session 3: Saturday, March 27, 2027 — UBC (to be confirmed)

✨ Why attend?

  • All sessions are free!
  • Each session covers different material, so there's something new to learn every time.
  • Attend one, two, or all three sessions, depending on your schedule.
  • Each session lasts two hours.
  • Parents are welcome to stay, space permitting.

The official and primary preparation opportunities for ELMACON participants are the free ELMACON preparation sessions and the publicly released materials available through the ELMACON website. No third party receives access to contest materials beyond those publicly released.
